Bounce Boing Voyage now available on N-Gage
You wait weeks for new N-Gage games and then they all come at once! Nokia's first party game Bounce Boing Voyage, a 3D remake of the classic embedded Bounce games, is now available in the N-Gage application's showroom (if you can't see it select Options and then Update Now). You can watch the rather amusing official trailer by visiting the Bounce Boing Voyage game page on All About N-Gage.
Reset Generation: The first Mega Game of the new N-Gage platform
All About N-Gage (like its sister-site All About Symbian) is notoriously picky about which games get its coveted "Mega Game" award, with only perhaps a couple of titles a year getting it. We're therefore very glad to announce that Nokia's latest title Reset Generation has achieved this accolade, and you can find out how it did it by reading Ewan Spence's in-depth review of the game. This is by AAN's reckoning the best N-Gage game so far, and we recommend it to absolutely everyone. If you haven't tried it yet, head on over to the official website where you can play the full version for free.
How to put the full version of Reset Generation on your own blog or website
Nokia's arguably missed a trick by not promoting Reset Generation's embedding ability, which lets you put the entire full game (including multiplayer online) on your own blog or site using a tiny bit of HTML code. You can find out how to embed the game by clicking on this item's headline, and if you've already embedded the game you might want to post a link to your site in the comments thread.
Reset Generation out now on N-Gage and PC
The long-awaited online multiplayer puzzle/strategy game Reset Generation is now available from the N-Gage application's showroom (use the "Update Now" option if you can't see it). UPDATE: The PC version has also now launched, you can play it through your browser for free on All About N-Gage (Windows only, but it works with both Firefox and IE). The PC version is identical to the N-Gage version, including online multiplayer.
N-Gage Sales Chart for 21st - 27th of July 2008
There wasn't a Top 5 last week (apparently due to the Summer holidays in Finland!), but it's now back, and there are two new entries.
The Megascreen: Snake on 3000 computers
After creating the world's largest human snake earlier this year, the fun continues at N-Gage's marketing department as they put the game Snake and some other titles on three thousand computers at the Assembly 2008 happening in Helsinki (or at least the press release talks about 3000 computers, the video only mentions 975). You can see the full video below...
Reset Generation demo open to everyone
The single-player demo of Reset Generation (previously only available to Fileplanet subscribers) is now available to everyone, click here to play it through your PC web browser. The full version of the game, which is possibly launching on PC and N-Gage next week, will also include a multiplayer online mode and the ability to embed the game in your own blog or website.
First impressions of the Nokia 5320 XpressMusic
We've just managed to get hold of a Nokia 5320 XpressMusic, which will become N-Gage-compatible later this year. Click here to see some photos and read our initial thoughts about the phone over on All About Symbian. If you have any questions, please post them in the comments section of this news item and we'll try to answer them.
AAS review of the N78 continues
Over on All About Symbian, Rafe Blandford has continued his extensive review of the Nokia N78, a phone which will become N-Gage-compatible later this year. In the second part of his review, Rafe concentrates on the N78's multimedia capabilities including photos, video and music. One of the N78's big features is an FM transmitter, which lets you listen to your music collection through any nearby FM receivers including car radios. You can also read the first part of the review here, which covers the actual hardware itself.
N-Gage as a home gaming system using TV Out
In a special feature, All About N-Gage presents a video of N-Gage games running through TV Out, and an editorial on what TV Out means for the future of N-Gage. Could it become much more than just a mobile gaming platform?
