Scott Foe lurks at E3, Reset Generation to be released on 4th of August?

Nokia isn't at E3 this year, though they are the main sponsor of the upcoming GCDC 2008. However, Scott Foe, the N-Gage producer behind such games as Pocket Kingdom and Reset Generation, was apparently lurking in the bushes ready to pounce on journalists, and you can read about it on portfolio.com. The most interesting part of the article is an apparent release date for Reset Generation: the 4th of August. (via Stefan Constantinescu)

Project White Rock to be revealed tomorrow

As previously reported by us and various other sites, Project White Rock is due to get its first public unveiling tomorrow, the 2nd of May. What's amazing is how little is public knowledge even so close to the event, we don't really know what genre this is or what the gameplay will involve. All we do know is it probably has something to do with classic retro gaming and is being made by RedLynx, the people who made Pathway To Glory and High Seize (so we are assuming PWR is a strategy game). Any suggestions of leaks or rumours are welcome in the comments thread.

Gameloft N-Gage Prize Draw

These N-Gage promotions seem to be appearing thick and fast! This one is very simple and easy to enter though: just play any Gameloft N-Gage game (Asphalt 3, Brain Challenge, Block Breaker Deluxe) on your N-Gage phone (currently N81, N82, N95 and variants) and upload at least one score to the Arena before the 18th of May 2008. Everyone who does this is automatically entered into a draw for a range of prizes.

FIFA08 for N-Gage free giveaway in Europe

Nokia are giving away FIFA08 for N-Gage-compatible phones absolutely free to a limited number of people in Europe (we don't know the exact figure but it's in the thousands at least). It's on a first-come-first-served basis, so the quicker you act the more likely you are to get the game free. The most reliable way of getting the game free is to install the FIFA08 demo directly on your phone in the N-Gage application, then go to the special N-Gage Play site (play.n-gage.com) on your computer's browser to get the activation link sent to your N-Gage phone as a text message. When the message arrives, just click on its link to activate the game. UPDATE: If you couldn't get it activated on the mobile site, try again through the PC site! (via Symbian Web Blog)

Your chance to ask Gameloft about their games

The official N-Gage blog has announced that third party publisher Gameloft will be answering your questions at a future event. You can submit the questions by posting in the reply section of this N-Gage blog post. Questions can cover anything, including their current games and future plans for supporting N-Gage, or you can ask about other mobile platforms as well.

The 1000 Person Snake

In a rather unorthodox piece of promotion, Nokia have created an elaborate short film featuring over one thousand extras as the world's largest game of Snake, along with an interactive human version of Breakout. To add to the fun it's been shot entirely in stop-motion animation using a still camera, and there are apparently no special effects at all, everything on screen existed in real life. UPDATE: The site is now open, you can watch/play the film at http://www.get-out-and-play.com/

Nokia opens up beta test survey and free game to non-N81 owners

Officially, the recent N-Gage beta testing phase (aka "First Access") was only open to N81 owners. However, some people managed to find unofficial ways for other phones to take part as well. In recognition of this, the beta test feedback survey has been opened up to non-N81 owners as well, which means they'll also get a free copy of Mile High Pinball when it's released.

The N-Gage Unification Theory - Looking to the Future Of Gaming

With the MWC and now GDC events under our belt, Ewan Spence draws from all the clues that Nokia has been dropping and comes up with a connected, converged epiphany into the future of gaming. The unification of smartphone functions, social networking and gaming is just around the corner, perhaps. Personally, I can't see any real showstoppers.
