The Compleat Hooked On: Creatures Of The Deep
If you're hooked on Hooked On Creatures Of The Deep, you may like to know that there's now an unofficial guide book to help you navigate the rather large and complex game world. It's by HO:COTD enthusiast Robot2037, who would like to hear from anyone interested in developing or finishing the guide, as there are still some gaps here and there. Head on over to the official Arena forum thread if you want to get in touch, or if you just want to congratulate the author on this incredible work.
Travel back in time with your N-Gage-compatible phone
Phones that are compatible with N-Gage games are also compatible with Symbian S60 3rd Edition software, including emulators of classic home computers and consoles. There are currently S60v3 emulators for the following systems: Amstrad CPC, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear, MSX, NES, Sega Master System, Sinclair ZX Spectrum and SNES. There's also an emu for MAME arcade machine games. Click here to read our sister site AAS's feature about where to get these emulators, and about the machines they emulate.

How to install N-Gage direct to your phone without a PC
The official N-Gage site's installation instructions seem to concentrate on installing the N-Gage application using a PC. However, there is a much quicker and simpler alternative which lets you install the N-Gage app directly onto your phone through its web browser. Reset Generation screens published and gameplay explained
Completely confounding expectations, Reset Generation has at last been unveiled with gameplay screenshots, a hands-on preview of the game itself and details of Nokia's plans for user-created content. Looking absolutely nothing like Pathway To Glory or High Seize, Reset Gen is a sort of mixture of puzzle, strategy and a thick layer of retro, with multi-player online support for up to four people. Perhaps most intriguingly though, the web-based PC version will be absolutely free, and in a form which anyone can embed on their website. PC players will play in the same game world as N-Gage players, so it shouldn't be too hard to find opponents online. (via Skywish on the Official N-Gage Forums)
We're a bit worried about the Space Impact team...
The people promoting the N-Gage shoot-em-up Space Impact: Kappa Base have apparently set up a frighteningly elaborate blog called "Are They Watching?". As well as numerous videos, they also give instructions on making a tin foil hat to deflect the "alien rays". See what you think. (via the Official N-Gage Blog)

Revival: A Civilization clone for N-Gage-compatible phones
If you remember the original version of Civilization for home computers, you may be delighted to know you can now buy a very similar game called Revival for your N-Gage-compatible phone. Head on over to All About Symbian for a review, and if you want to buy or try the game go direct to the developer Herocraft's purchasing page. (The S60v3 version is the one that works on N-Gage-compatible phones.)
N-Gage Video Roundup
Some N-Gage-related vids you might want to check out, click on the title of this news item to see them. There are three videos included: the YouTube version of the famous "1000 person snake" animation made by Nokia to promote the new platform, the making-of which reveals the snake animation's total lack of special effects, and finally an amusing unofficial film which official N-Gage sites will probably NEVER show... ;-)
