N-Gage's YouTube channel goes trailer-mad!
Published by Tzer2 at 22:15 UTC, June 11th 2008
N-Gage's official YouTube channel has suddenly filled with trailers for current and upcoming games, so we've been busy embedding them in AAN's game pages. Click on this news item for a complete list of links. Slight problems with some of them though, if anyone from Nokia's reading this: the Sims 2 trailer seems to be for the Java version instead of the N-Gage version, and the Asphalt 3 trailer appears to be upside down! :-) (Update: They've fixed the Asphalt video and they're working on the Sims one...)
Check out these game pages to see the new trailers, as well as AAN's own screenshots and reviews:
Block Breaker Deluxe
Brain Challenge
DChoc Cafe Hold Em Poker
DChoc Cafe Solitaire
DChoc Cafe Sudoku
Dirk Dagger and the Fallen Idol
Dogz
FIFA08
Midnight Pool 3D
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
World Series Of Poker: Pro Challenge
Worms World Party

If you haven't already seen it, do watch the Star Wars trailer, it's particularly impressive. The Worms one is rather good too... :-)
argh
Nice how the mouse pointer slides on to video in the Worms video when selecting weapons near the end. Oops!
I'm probably 100% off the ball here, but I was wondering if perhaps the emulator they were using to play/video the games had a touch UI support and they were considering clicking the buttons instead which would be the equivalent of pressing them with your finger. I doubt it, especially as the buttons are so tiny, but just a thought :)

Argh, I don't know what setup they use to video games, but I don't think the pointer is part of the game interface. It seemed to just zip in and out without actually pressing any of the game buttons.
My best guess would be that they were doing video capture on the PC and forgot to take the pointer out of the way, I often do this by accident when I capture video of an app running on my PC.
But I do think Nokia ought to be considering touch support if it isn't already being done:

most likely use video capturing software on a PC (hence why some trailers the frame-rate can be choppy).
but if they were testing these games on N95 they could hook it up to a DVD recorder (or something) and do it that way.
