A compilation containing eight unofficial remakes of classic arcade games including Arcade Ball (Breakout), Riverside Assault (River Raid), Galaxy Invaders (Galaxians), Digger (Boulderdash), Real Tanx (Tanks), Rushman (Pac-Man), Asteroids (Asteroids) and Gold Hunter (we're not sure which game this is meant to be!).
It's another Breakout/Arkanoid clone, but done quite well and with some new gameplay twists too.
Blazar is a 2D shoot-em-up with auto-generated neverending levels that get more difficult as you progress through them.
Frozen Bubble is a freeware open source version of the classic Puzzle Bobble (aka Bust-A-Move). The aim of the game is to match up similar-coloured spheres before they reach the bottom of the playing area.
Li-Nuggz is a remake of the classic 1980s computer and arcade game Pang (which was itself a remake of Cannon Ball/Bubble Buster). Your character wanders around a screen while avoiding some deadly bouncing balls. You can fire arrows up at the balls to make them split into two, and eventually make them disappear once they're small enough.
Marble Maze uses compatible phones' accelerometers (motion/tilt sensors), so you can steer the marble through the game's mazes by just tilting your phone.
My Little Tank is a modern variation on the classic tank genre, where you steer a vehicle round a large 2D playing field trying to destroy as many enemies as possible.
Platypus is a 2D scrolling shoot-em-up which features bizarre and strangely impressive animated plasticene graphics and retro C64-style music. (If you can imagine Space Impact crossed with Wallace & Gromit you get Platypus...)
S-Tris is a freeware clone of Tetris, and includes the basic mode as well as several optional extras.
Snakes is an acclaimed 3D remake of the classic embedded game Snake, and is available totally free from Nokia's website. It was originally made to promote the first generation N-Gage but was later released on all of Nokia's smartphones, including those compatible with next gen N-Gage.
Okay, strictly speaking this is a Java game and shouldn't be here, but it's SO good that we're making a special exception for it. Sola Rola is a sort of cross between Loco Roco and Toejam & Earl, featuring two blobs making their way across the galaxy exploring planets and solving puzzles in an environment with realistic physics. The graphics, music and gameplay are top notch, and we highly recommend you buy this for your phone. (Incidentally, this Sola Rola has got nothing to do with the Flash game of the same name.)
Super Miners is a modern variation on the classic Boulder Dash formula. The developers, Infinite Dreams, went on to do Creatures Of The Deep for the N-Gage platform.
Tilelander is rather unusual as it manages to combine both turn-based strategy and real time action into one unique arcade puzzle game.
